Let's write!

Dear children, 

I would like all of you to have a go at writing a story starting with one of the following:

• “Evening brought the breeze, channelled by the concrete blocks, blowing across Singapore…” - From First Loves, Philip Jeyaretnam 
• I was walking across the bridge 
• It’s been a long time since …… 
• Today is my first day…….. 
• It was all over the news this morning! 
• Along the way, I caught glimpses of the railway tracks…. 
• “Doors closing. Please stand clear of the doors.” 
• The time has come …..

Use not more than 500 words. 

Email me your story before 5 October (Friday). 

I will choose as many good pieces of writing as I can for a writing competition - Flash Fiction Writing Competition. It is jointly organized by National Library Board and Singapore Press Holdings Ltd in conjunction with READ! Singapore 2012.
